Our bodies hold memories of our painful and traumatic experiences, but the way that you tend to yourself and lean into what you need can help you to heal past wounds. By acknowledging what you’ve been through whether it be grief, trauma, or whatever else that lives within you, you’re able to move forward in a way that feels compassionate and sustainable for you.
In this episode, I share a personal story about the birth of my first child, Delphina and how the birthing experience caused me to dig my heels in for the birth of my second child, Freya. This is a story of readiness co-mingling with fear, body memory, and learning to advocate for what I needed — even, and especially, when I was scared.
Tune in to hear me explore…
- My first birth experience and the fear this brought to my second pregnancy and birth experience
- How your body holds all of your experiences and the anniversaries of those experiences within you
- Why entering into a compassionate relationship with your body allows you to explore those places where your body has dug its heels in
