Official bio
Mara Glatzel (she/her) is a coach, podcast host, and the author of Needy: How to Advocate for Your Needs and Claim Your Sovereignty. She teaches fellow needy humans to stop abandoning themselves and reclaim space in their lives for their own humanity.
Through her workshops, retreats, and online community Roost, Mara facilitates spaces for people to uncover the most vulnerable and true expression of themselves, and learn how to deeply tend to their needs. Mara is here to help others cultivate the self-belief necessary to know they are always deserving of the love and support required to thrive.
Mara is, herself, a needy human. And yet, as a White, fat, queer, middle-income femme mother of two, she deeply understands the impulse to relegate her needs to the bottom of a very long to-do list in an attempt to prove her worth. She has been walking this path for as long as she can remember, and has supported thousands of humans along the way.
Mara is ecstatic about helping humans take up space in their lives as they completely redefine their concept of self-care through honoring and advocating for their needs. She is not even a little bit interested in one size fits all self-care that continually misses the mark. Instead, she believes that the ultimate act of self-care is rebuilding the chasm in your relationship with yourself so that you can feel seen, heard, and adored by yourself, no matter what.
Mara lives and works upon the unceded homelands of the Wampanoag Nation, People of the First Light, in North Truro near the tip of Cape Cod.
She holds a Masters in Clinical Social Work with a specialization in Trauma & Interpersonal Violence. She is also certified in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Reiki, and the Crystalline Consciousness Technique (CCT).
