Your life is for living.

What would be different for you if you knew – REALLY KNEW – that you mattered and that you were allowed to offer yourself all of the support, care, and rest that you ache for?

What might shift if you stopped waiting for someone else to give you permission to slow down and offer that kindness to yourself?

What would change if you were able to have reverence for your body – taking responsibility for caring for the body that you HAVE, now, instead of the body you were conditioned to want instead?

What might you joyfully accomplish if you felt CRYSTAL CLEAR about your priorities and next steps?

Roost is a scaffolding for healing. I love the continual reminders to be gentle on myself and not feel behind. I love how Mara shares her beautiful humanness with us all! Since I joined Roost, I’ve been able to recognize when I am slipping into my automatic people pleaser mode, pause to consider (or identify after/while I'm doing something) that I need to take responsibility for my own needs and not someone else's.

Mara teaches from the depth of her soul - she is doing the work of being human right alongside you, while generously sharing her own experience and education -- so there is never a feeling of not being far enough along in the journey. Mara reminds us often that tending to ourselves is a practice - perfection not required.

I specifically love the container of Roost (a relatively new + gorgeous iteration on her long-running program, Tend) because of the community. Every year, I get to do this work alongside a wonderful combination of old friends & new faces (who quickly become old friends). It is a gentle but inspiring space to be human alongside other humans. If you think Roost might be for you, it almost certainly is.

All of my life, I have been told that I am "too needy." I read Mara's book and was blown away by her ability to look unflinchingly at the way society expects women to be EVERYTHING TO EVERYBODY ALL THE TIME, and her audacity at telling us that, in fact, we must turn the mainstream paradigm on its head: we must pursue our joy like our lives depended on it -- because it does.

Roost has helped me get to a point where I could assert my needs without apology, without compromise, without putting my needs second to those of my partner. For me, this was revolutionary!

Roost is a loving and accepting community where you can be vulnerable yet feel empowered by validation and community. I love Mara's unflagging encouragement and wisdom without sugar coating how hard standing up for yourself can be.

- Lenora

I love the openness of Roost. The come-as-you-are-ness of it. I am proud of making an effort to understand how I feel and what I need this year and trying to meet that. Even just bringing awareness to these things feels like progress.

Welcome to Roost

A year-long homecoming for real humans who want to live, love, parent, work, and lead sustainably and with reverence for their bodies and quality of life

We are humans operating in systems of late-stage capitalism, structural oppression, and an unfolding climate emergency -- just to name a few -- aching for a connection to something larger than us WHILE ALSO needing to keep a roof over our heads and get dinner on the table.

In this world that seems hell-bent on divorcing us from our body and having us live from the head up, I promise you this: There is a different way to live.

One that takes your days off autopilot + allows you to be an active participant, leading with benevolence, grace, compassion, and intention.

Roost is a school and community for women, non-binary folks, and femmes who are ready to do the inner + outer work of tending to their needs and partnering with themselves deeply, deliciously, and sustainably, one cycle at a time.

During our year of circling together, you’ll learn how to practice radical self-partnership and unlearn everything that has you stuck believing that who + how you are right now isn’t okay.

You’ll reveal where you’re snarled up in knots, disentangle yourself from faulty expectations, and divest from external examples of worthiness, success, and toxic productivity…

And in doing so, you’ll discover a reliable, realistic system that works for you to proactively tend to your energy, stay in touch with your larger vision for your life, and take inspired action that is hooked into your values, needs, and desires.

(And not just on bright, shiny days.)
